Data type: bitmap

A bitmap is a 2 dimensional data array residing in system RAM (not uploaded to the graphics card).

It is usually used for storing images but can also be used for other purposes.

• There is more flexibility with a bitmap but less performance since the CPU is slower at drawing than the GPU
